Why Now

The world is at a turning point.

Progress in equity and justice is being tested, and divisions threaten to pull us apart. But we believe in a different story β€” one where young women of African heritage step forward, armed with knowledge, fueled by purpose, and bound together in solidarity.

The 2025 African Economic Outlook

Authored by experts from across the continent β€” underscores the essential role that both youth and women will play in shaping Africa’s economic and social future. The Young Women Empowered Summit directly answers this call, targeting young women leaders who are ready to lead now.

The Summit is more than an event.

It’s a declaration: our leadership is not just needed, it is urgent. Together, we will transform data into strategies, challenges into opportunities, and individual vision into collective power β€” with the ultimate goal of launching a permanent, global network of women of African heritage throughout the diaspora.
